Sailor Moon wig by Ashbrie Sailor Moon wig by Ashbrie
I made this wig for a friend. It was my first time doing complicated wig styling. I used to be terrified of attempting stuff like this, but now I love it :) It's a combination of Anime (the buns), Manga(the little curls), and Sera Myu(the curled pigtails) styles

I have progress pictures and a MUCH more detailed description of the construction of the wig on my cosplay.com account. See here: [link]

How did you worked on the fringe? *-* It's so real! How did you do that, how? *^*

It's been a while since I worked on this wig, but if I recall correctly I'm pretty sure I just used foam curlers and blasted when with hairspray and a blow drier. After you take the foam curlers out, they will look really silly, but when you brush them down you should get nice fluffy raised bangs! It might take a few tries to get them to look just right :D

Thank you so much, you're so kind! I'll try to do the same, hope it will be just as perfect as yours!

Great idea to use the batting as a base for the pony tails! Do you know how well it held up after the first wear?

Thank you! :D I do not really know how the wig has fared since I sold it, unfortunately.

I think if I were to do tails like this again, I would maybe use some spots of caulk for extra support--I think I only used a ton of hairspray and a bit of sewing here and there for this wig.

You're most welcome! I'm a huge fan of Sailor Moon, I love seeing how people tackle her hair.

Having done a very similar technique with my Hozuki (fox eared wig) I didn't glue the back part, and the hair spray is losing it's hold. That's why I asked, I wanted to see if it either happened to someone else or if you had found a way to make it stick. I've had to go back and hairspray/glue sections down so the hair goes back in place.
